Photos from the end of the world

While in school I struggled to find my voice as a photographer, it felt like every idea or concept I had had been done before. It was not until a friend told me about an abandoned movie theater and the two of us went to go explore it that I fell in love with the lost and forgotten places of our society.

I started to seek out more of these places and try and capture them in photos. Most people look at my photos and feel sad, which is up to them after all art is subjective. Myself I find these places are beautiful, mysterious, and humbling.

While exploring I try and figure out who once lived or worked there, what were there lives like? What were these places like when they were alive.

These places exist as a monument to humanity, all our fighting, arguing, loving, living, the only thing left after we are all gone will be these places.  And here I am, walking among them, a brief window into our future.

Taking Photos from the end of the world.

Also I would be lying if I said it did not feel like I was smack dab in one of my favorite post apocalyptic sci fi movies, and that feels pretty awesome.
